Charlotte slept until 8am this morning.  She had a pretty good night except her and Mommy were up in the middle of the night for about an hour after vitals were taken.

She woke up happy and wanting to play.  Grandma and Grandpa Wags were here right away and Aunt Lynn showed up just a couple minutes later.  They both brought me some coffee so it was going to be a good morning.  Charlotte was thrilled to see them all!  She started coloring right away, watching videos and throwing the ball.  She was pretty happy most of the morning, even a little sassy at times.  Her CBC results came back and showed that she was already growing some new cells.  Her white blood cell, platelet, and hemoglobin counts were all up, and neutrophil count was only down a very little bit.  She is still confined within her room however, so today was pretty much a challenge to keep her entertained while staying in her room and not mentioning “outside” or even “hall”.  But G&G helped a lot.  Then she was about ready for a nap around 12:30 and she went down happily.

She stayed asleep for about three hours and then her buddy came to visit.  They played with her tea set and colored.  After that, Grandma and Grandpa E came and stayed for a while.  All of the visitors kept her mind off of the fact that she was stuck in her room.  She was tubie free for about half an hour so we brought in the basketball hoop from the PT room and she ran around her room and played BB!

She was still pretty wound up at the end of the night so she really wasn’t too interested in sleeping.  Hopefully Mommy has better luck than I did last night.

Overall, it was another really good day.  No real fevers since Friday night, not even a high temperature since yesterday morning.  Her oxygen levels have been higher and pulse has been back to normal.  Her breathing has been not so labored and the doctors all think she is doing well.  None of her cultures have come back positive with any signs of bacterial, viral, or fungal infections.  So we can’t complain at this point.  We hope that we get some good results from her nasal swab so we can let her out of her room soon.  Maybe tomorrow…
