What a difference a day makes.  We all slept pretty well last night knowing what we now know.

Today we decided to make a family day in the park.  G & G Elske, G & G Wags, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Lyle, Julia, Meredith, Uncle Scott, Brett, and Kate all joined us for a fun morning at the playground.  Charlotte had a great time (along with all of the other kids) climbing the play structure and going down the various slides over and over again.  No one would have ever guessed that she just received a dose of chemotherapy and a bone marrow aspirate yesterday.  But in true Charlotte fashion, she eventually instructed all of us to “come on” and begin our walk around the park.  So off we went to the other end of the park to look at the deer.  At this point, yesterday caught up with Charlotte and she got pretty tired.  After a very brief picnic at the park, she insisted on going home.  So Mommy and Charlotte quickly got in the van and Charlotte was immediately asleep before Mommy could drive the minute route back home.  She was so happy to get into her big girl bed and slept for over 3 1/2 hours (only to be woken up by Broadway’s barking).

She was happy to be up, but we could tell she was limping a bit and appeared a little sad.  After ruling out a fever, we decided it safe to give her some Tylenol as we decided she maybe overdid it at the park this morning and was probably just sore at her bone marrow biopsy site.  And this appeared to do the trick.  Mommy and Daddy decided to have a quick date night while Grandma Wags and Charlotte hung out for awhile.  By the time we got back (only about an hour), Charlotte was back to her active self and developed her own little wiggle dance.  It was wonderful to see!

  1. Thank God for wonderfully normal play days! So happy to see all the little cousins around to play outside at the park today, and glad that Tylenol did the trick this afternoon. Here’s looking forward to a Super Sunday as well!

  2. Charlotte is so amazing with all the energy she has. Glad she had a good day, everyone else is getting their exercise to.
