Charlotte slept until just after 8 this morning!  She woke up a few times last night, but she always went back to sleep within minutes so we are still calling that a win.

Grandma W stayed the night so she was up first thing helping Mommy clean and tidy the rooms again.  We are still getting Charlotte’s stuff out of her old room and getting the newborn clothes into the new nursery.  I guess when you collect baby clothes like Amy does, this can take a little while!!

Some of you have noticed that there is no Broadway in the pictures.  He is still enjoying himself with Grandpa Wags.  Because Charlotte is still very susceptible to infections, colds, etc we need to be able to get her to the hospital ASAP should she start showing signs of illness.  We didn’t feel that Broadway would take too well to us packing up and leaving in the middle of the night so we asked Grandpa to continue watching him while Charlotte is home now.  If she is still at home come this weekend, we will have Grandpa bring him back for a short visit with us and Charlotte.

Charlotte and I spent a lot of the time this morning outside.  We walked around the yard.  Then we walked around the block a couple of times.  Charlotte still seemed healthy and full of energy so we are hoping tomorrow’s blood tests show us some good numbers.  It’s so weird…she just doesn’t seem that sick.  We just hope that this is a sign that Charlotte is not going down to this disease.

She wanted a picnic lunch today, so we all sat down on a blanket in the yard and ate our lunch.  Charlotte had about three or four bites then walked around for the rest of lunch.

She had a great nap, almost three hours!  Then after her nap, we spent time chasing her around the house like the old days and she ended up with another nice tubie free bath before bed.

I am sorry today’s post was short…today just felt like another regular day with a regular two year old.  I like that.

Praying for good news tomorrow from her blood tests, and a positive meeting with Dr Diamond.

  1. We just got back from Minnesota and are soooo excited to hear about going home and being home. Prayers continue for strength, healing and better days ahead! Yeah, Charlotte!!

  2. Great post today, even if short. I am sure I speak for many when I say that you never need to be sorry for having a normal day with Ms. Charlotte. Praying for positive bloodwork tomorrow and a good meeting with the Doc. Always in our prayers!

  3. Super yay for regular! Praying for positive, praying for GOOD news! Love the candid shots outside from the weekend – so very ‘regular.’

  4. I am so happy that you got to go home for a while. What wonderful news! I loved the picnic picture with Charlotte waving, and her sitting on her new Big Girl bed. She’s too young to know, but what a brave, little fighter she is. And, Amy and Lon, you two are just doing a fantastic job of dealing with everything that you’re being faced with. Lots and lots of love to all of you.

  5. We are so happy to hear that you guys got to go home this weekend! Sounds like you had a really nice weekend, although I’m sure it went way too fast. We will be thinking of you and praying for good news with all of Charlotte’s tests this week. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way!

  7. Lon, Amy & Charlotte~ I know you don’t know who I am, I am a friend of Aunt Lynn and she has kept me updated on Charlotte’s progress. I was very excited when she sent me the link to this blog because even though I don’t know Charlotte I feel a strong bond to her from everything Aunt Lynn has told me about her and your family. I love seeing the pictures and reading about her progress. She is such an amazing little girl and I hope someday to have the pleasure of meeting her. Charlotte and your family are in my daily prayers and I am so glad that things have been going so well for her. She is so brave and strong! You must be very proud of her. Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate the time you put into this blog so that we can all follow her progress and make our prayers more specific. Also, wanted you to know that you have prayers from Nebraska coming your way! May God continue to bless your family.

Got the news from Lynnie on Friday that you were headed home! So happy you made it home and enjoyed a “normal day in the life of a 2 year old”. Praying her blood tests today go well!

  9. I think of you often and check your web blog. It’s heartening to read that Charlotte is home and that you’re having some “normal” days. That must be a relief. Lots of prayers going out for all of you.
