Charlotte slept until about 7am today and woke up happy again.  She had almost half a banana gone before she was even out of bed.  And she ate almost a whole Eggo.

She was ready to go walking again as soon as G&G Wags showed up.  We walked and played almost the entire morning.

Her neutrophil count is starting to climb a bit so if the trend continues this way for the next few days, we could be looking at going home sometime next week!  Every day’s CBC results will tell us if she is heading in the right direction or if she needs to spend a bit more time with the good people here building up her strength.  Yesterday she received a platlet transfusion, today she had half a unit of blood.  These are only the second times she has received platelets and blood in three weeks of treatment which the doctor says is a good sign.

She had a good nap again today and walked and played some more afterwards.  Today marked another 6 days so she needed to have her port access needle changed tonight.  Katie was a real pro in changing it and Charlotte is already over the trauma again.  It is hard for Mommy and I to watch her go through this, and hard for us to be there holding her down during it, but we think she might appreciate having Mommy and Daddy in the room to comfort her once it is done.  She continues to be a real brave little girl and makes us proud every minute of the day.
